Another Beantown Championship!

Melanie got to witness yet another Boston team winning a championship. Her 6th in her lifetime. Yesterday we had an appointment in Boston so we decided hey while we are here - let's go to a parade.

I got t-shirts for the girls and we watched as the players and coaches celebrated the 17th NBA championship for the Celtics.

40! Oh-Boy!

So with an off weekend for a change I was looking forward to getting some much needed rest and sleep. It was my birthday this past weekend and I was turning 40 but was not expecting any big celebrations just some quiet time with Kelli, the kids and my parents.

So on Saturday we had plans to go to lunch with my parents after I had a meeting at the studio. When I showed up at BBC my parents were sitting in the bar area - I was thinking that was a bit odd - why were they not at a table? Then I saw my buddy and old roommate from UCF Kenny then Jay and then big Dave (another old roommate who now lives in VT). I stopped cold in my tracks and said "hey what is going on here?" My friend Jay asked if I bought "my backup liver - you're going to need it" So much for the relaxing weekend with family.

Seems Kelli had been planning something behind my back. When I got back to my house that afternoon there where more surprises including a surprise party with more family and friends including many photographers from here on the cape and beyond. Needless to say I was a bit overwhelmed and embarrassed by all of this but it was a lot of fun.

Mother's Day

On Sunday we hopped back on the boat and headed back to the "main land." Kylie had a ballet performance at CCCC that Kelli and I were anxious to get back for. It was a great show - Peter Pan - one of my favorites! When I get a chance I'll try to post a slide show of some other images from this show but here are a few of Kylie. Who of course was the star of the show - well at least for us :-).

Easter & New Beginnings

Spring is here - well at least the calendar says it's spring. Still a bit chilly these days but the Red Sox started playing ball for real at 6am this morning and won their first game of the season! It's a new start in more ways than one.

Over the weekend my family and I went to Rhode Island to visit my Dad and his wife Donna for Easter dinner. Last year my Dad and Donna where visiting us in our new home for Easter dinner but we were hit with a bit of scary news that Easter as my Dad had just been diagnosed with cancer in his neck. That Easter he was looking for a Dr. and treatment

It was a long journey and certainly parts of it where difficult however I'm happy to say he is cancer free today. His battle did leave some complications with eating. Something that most of us take for granted every day. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal that they prepared yesterday. Dad actually ate everything on his plate!!! It was funny watching him slam down his fork and declare "I did it!!" It was the first time since last spring he has been able to eat something other than soup or something out of a feeding tube.

I couldn't be more proud of him & Donna for their courage to battle through this difficult challenge in their lives. Here is a few photos I took of him after dinner before we headed back home.

New Shoes and a Ladybug!

A few weeks ago I bought some new running shoes. I haven't been exactly logging a lot of miles lately (I've been a little sick lately) so what better way to get motivated than to get some new running shoes. I know women usually get excited about new shoes but runners also have this strange obsession with them as well - after all without our feet we wouldn't get very far right??

So I trekked down to see my friend Kevin and Hanlon's Shoes in Hyannis and picked up some new Brooks Adrenaline's.

While I got ready for my long 2 mile run...lol... Melanie was working on her book report and Kylie was playing quietly in the Family room. After my run I can home to find a Ladybug in the house - I feel lucky already! A pain free run and home in time for dinner with my family. Have a great Easter everyone.

Grammy Davis

Recently I lost my grandmother. She was 95 and lived a long happy life. At her visitation my aunt Chris put together a board of photographs from her life. It was great listing to the stories that my relatives (some of whom I had just met) told about my grandmother and how she lived and it was the photographs that led to the stories. I was reminded again about the power that photography has in an individual's life.

Here are 3 of her 11 great grandchildren. My two girls and Ridley thier third cousin from Texas.

NYC, PA and the Holiday

Well we ended the year by taking the girls to NYC for Christmas eve. Kelli had been wanting to go the city for a while so when we decided to go to my brother's for Christmas we incorporated it into our trip. It was a brief few days but perfect time to take in the Rockets and do some shopping for the girls at the American Girl store.

Then it was on to see my brother Steve and his family in PA. My mom and my step-dad came up from Florida. It was the first time Steve, my mom and I had been together in quite a while. Nothing like having family all together for the holiday.
